I have been a terrible blogger, I know!
The beginning of the semester is always such a hectic, busy time.

So, what is new? A lot.

This semester is amazing. I adore my classes. The teachers, students, and curriculums are great. I have already learned a tremdous amount. I am taking Child Behavior and Development, Early Childhood Education, Creative Experiences in Art,Music and Drama, and Chorus. ( I was taking English, but I dropped it...it was just too much!) All of the classes are proving to be very educational, and wonderful.

I am also working a lot more! It can definitley be tough, but I am learning a lot. Teaching preschool is the most difficult thing I have ever done. However, when I can see the development and growth going on right in front of me, all of the hardwork is justified. I am hoping for more students, somewhere between 8 and 10 would be perfect.

I am also a certified Baby Signing Time instructor! I can teach ASL vocabulary to parents and their children three and under!

On top of all that, I try to practice my Horn everyday. It is so therapeutic. Really.

Oh, and I am trying to figure out all of my health problems! ( But thats another post by itself!)

Things I am looking forward to:
Halloween. I am being Frodo Baggins!
Thanksgiving. ( Im just really hungry...)
Christmas/Winter break. I am THRILLED to be getting my first Christmas tree!

Okay....time to get back to homework!

" Did you ever imagine you would be working in a...daycare?......Well, it pays the bills!" - the janitor at my school, to me.

1. I do not work at a day care. I have not cared for a day in my entire life.
2. It is not only rude, but it is inappropriate to come into my classroom, and attack me and my profession.
3. This is my work. I choose to be here. I dont teach preschool because I think it will bring me in boat loads of money.
4. My job sets the fundamentals and foundations YOUR CHILD needs in order to develop and learn.
5. I am a teacher. I teach the ABC's ( the letters that make up our language), shapes, colors, life skills, art, music, drama, dance, movement.
6. I work hard everyday. My co-workers work hard everyday. And my students work hard everyday.
7. I am an educator. I am an educarer.
8. People who teach at this level arent doing it as a last resort. They are REAL teachers.

I dont care if you are a janitor ( who sweeps my classroom floors, and cleans the toilet) or the President of the United States, or a worker at Mcdonalds, or a Doctor of Astro-Physics.....whoever you are and whatever you do, you have NO right to come into my classroom and attack my work. ESPECIALLY if I am working with a student.

Sometimes, I find that I feel like I am walking against a bunch of waves in the ocean. I walk a little bit in, and then get knocked over by a giant, chilling wave. And again, and again, and again. Few steps forward, one step back. The floor of sand below my feet feels unbalanced, and insecure. The wind pushes me all over, in every direction. And I sense the mystery of the gray ocean ahead.

And just when I think I may fall face first in, and not be able to gain control to get back up, the waves settle. And the wind calms.  I am closer to shore, where my feet are grounded. I am comforted by familiar surroundings, and no longer fear the mysteries ahead of me.
