The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Wow! My computer is allowing me to blog! Wooo! Hallelujah!

Perfect timing actually; technology.

Yes, technology is a great tool- I see how it is incredibly helpful in the medical world, and in many other fields. But, if we look at technology and how we use it in our every day lives...it is a bit uncomforting.

I realize you may be thinking " Well, if you are blogging, you are using technology!" and yes, that is true. However, the way I blog is, pretty much, the same way I or anyone else, would write in a journal or diary. The only thing blogging does for me, is makes it public. But let's look at social networking... I have a Facebook account, which I use everyday...( okay, several times a day..) and I really rely on it to know just about everything- from Birthday's, to anniversaries, to upcoming events, to enjoying everyday conversation, and much more.  But, because I have access to all of this with just a username and password, I can now allow myself to be totally unsocial If I want to be ( but still have the advantage of knowing all the information I would normally have if I just talked to these people face-to-face). So, for people who are total introverts, social networking is probably the greatest invention in the world. It allows them to totally be in their own world, "speaking" when they want to, but "listening" all the time. Does this make sense? I guess what I am getting at, is that humans have enough problems communicating as it is, and I feel like social networking is creating a means of communication that is really not communicating at all.

Don't get me wrong. I think FB has a lot of great tools:
One can keep in touch with loved ones/friends who live far away
One can view pictures of their "friends"
You can use FB to message people ( Like you would in an email)

Long story short:
When can we all just put down our phones and laptops, and just talk to each other?

FINALLY!
My computer would not let me blog for SUCH a long time...so, now I am writing on a different one.

Right now, it seems all I want to do is complain about my health problems and pains- my stomach, throat, head...etc it seems the list goes on and on and on....

But what is worse than physical pain? You probably guessed correctly: Emotional pain.
And, I think I have felt nearly every kind of emotional pain that is out there. Heartache, general stress, agony, total anger...the works. My question is this; when does someone go from having regular emotions to emotional pain, and having to "deal" with said feelings.

I wish I could dig a big hole in the ground, toss all of my feelings into it, and run far, far away from it.
( And maybe dig it up later when I know what the fuck to do with it)

Things I am feeling? Well, to name a few:
NOSTALGIC
TIRED
SAD
HOPEFUL

Wants to write and write and write and write.
But I have very little to write and write and write about.

Inspiring post, I know.

Saturday, May 7, 2011

I'm signing my very first lease on Wednesday. It is both exciting, and scary.
Here is a list of things I either need to get, or just want to have:

Cookie Jar ( need, obviously)
Shower Curtain
Shampoo, body wash, toothbrush and paste...etc.
Dish soap
Sponges
Napkins

ehm..

Hmm...

What else do I need?
Not a clue.
